The Monovisions are the creation of Vladimir Farnsworth after his contact with the Broadcast. It is a television-like device through which people can experience the world from the comfort and safety of their own beds, without having to venture outdoors. Soon thereafter, Farnsworth went mad and built various machine creatures to help spread the Broadcast, the term "Monovision" is also used to refer to Vladimir's forces.

Appearance[]

Monovision Creatures are technological beasts designed to carry out Farnsworth's wishes, often involving destroying the Mobile Trench Brigade and building immense stations to better spread the Broadcast.

There are a large variety of these creatures, each with their own capabilities and each falling under one of three color-coded "types" which dictate where their personal objectives lie.

Blue Monovisions[]

The most common Monovision type, also referred to as "Base Targeting" Monovisions, Blue Monovisions seek to take down the Objective(s) on each stage and little else. Most of this variety have no interest in fighting the marines' Trenches themselves, and will ignore Emplacements almost entirely- only stepping around (or over in the case of Big Willie) emplacements left directly on their pre-defined paths.

The most common exceptions to these rules being Boss Fight Missions in which Blue Monos will act much like Red Monos due to the marine's Trench being their Objective. It's also worth noting that Ranged Blue Monos will often take pot-shots at nearby Trenches when applicable, but will continue on their way towards the Objective assigned to them after having done so.

Main Forces[]

*= Tommies and Aerials are both Ranged Blue Monos, and as such can and will take pot-shots at the Player despite the Player not being their primary objective.

Sub Bosses[]

The bulk of the sub-bosses in Iron Brigade belong to the Blue Monovision category.

*= Volt Droppers are unique in the Blue category for having a secondary weapon that they will fire during their flight that ignores traditional Blue targeting guidelines. They will prioritize Players, then Emplacements, and finally the Objective(s) with the only determining factor being whether their target is within range. This means a Volty is capable of downing a Player, blowing up an Emplacement, and destroying the Objective all without actually dropping their payload.

Worm[]

Additionally, three "Worm" Blue Monos can appear from the ground during designated waves. While all Worms are Blue, none of them follow the traditional Blue Monovision guidelines

Teal Monovisions[]

Teal Mononovisions, also referred to as "Emplacement Targeting" Monovisions, are Farnsworth's answer to the Trench Brigade's Turrets. Teal Monos march down their Lanes and attack any and all Emplacements within their range, often destroying them. Due to the extreme value the Trench Brigade finds in its Emplacements, this has the potential to snowball and cause entire Lanes to lose their defenses while Blue Monos march through unopposed.

If a Teal Mono is incapable of finding an emplacement along their path, they will often resort to simply attacking the Objective much like a Blue Mono.

Red Monovisions[]

Red Monos, also referred to as "Player Targeting" Monovisions, will attack players, to the point of ignoring any pre-defined path to the objective and will not attempt to attack the base or emplacements until all players are either downed or marked as out of reach. The Red Monos are unique in that they do not have a Sub Boss of their own.
